Privacy
The short version: your sales file never leaves your computer, and none of its data is kept once the tab is closed. The tool remembers your column choices in your browser, and you can turn that off.
Your files
- The tool reads your file inside the browser tab. It is not uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- The calculation runs in your browser, using a database engine that is downloaded as part of the page.
- Exports (Excel, CSV, PNG and the HTML report) and the setup file are created in your browser and saved by your browser.
What is stored, and where
- Your file and its rows are never stored. They live in the tab’s memory and is gone when you close or reload the tab, or choose Clear data.
- Your setup is remembered unless you turn it off. After you calculate a bridge, your column choices, attribute order and options are saved in your browser’s local storage, so the next file with the same columns opens ready. This includes your column names and attribute names, but no values from your data: filter selections are not saved for that reason.
- Unticking Remember this setup in this browser deletes everything the tool saved. The tool then keeps one setting, that remembering is off, so it stays off next time.
- Local storage stays on your computer; it is not sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data also removes it.
- The tool does not use IndexedDB, browser caches, a private file system or a service worker.
- The site sets no cookies and has no accounts.
- If you write to support@pvmbridge.com, our server keeps your message and email address for 90 days so we can answer you, then deletes them. A copy goes to our own inbox. An AI assistant (Claude, from Anthropic) reads your message and may draft or send the reply.
What we can see
- The site has no tracking scripts. The tool loads nothing from third parties.
- The site’s server counts page loads: for each page, the date and the website you came from, if any. It does not record your IP address, set a cookie or keep anything else about you. In the tool, it counts only that the page was opened.
- The company hosting the site can see ordinary web server logs, such as the pages requested and IP addresses. It cannot see your files.
Checking this yourself
Open your browser’s developer tools, go to the network panel, and load a file. No request carries your data. The pages also carry a content security policy that allows connections only to this site, so the browser itself blocks anything else. The source code is published so anyone can confirm what the page does, and its automated test checks that none of your data is stored or sent.
If this changes
Planned paid features such as saved workspaces across devices would store your setup on a server. This page will be updated before any such feature is released, and uploading data will never be required to use the free tool.
